From the South take the M54 off the M6 north
of Wolverhampton towards Shrewsbury. This becomes
the A5, take the A49 towards Whitchurch, then follow
the signs for Ellesmere via the A528. You will see
the Mere on the right before you reach the centre of
Ellesmere. |
Ellesmere is
an attractive market town between Whitchurch and
Oswestry in the centre of 'Shropshire's Lake
District', so called because of numerous 'meres' in
the area. The Shropshire Steamboat Company is based on
the beautiful 'Big Mere' just to the west of the
town centre on the A483. There is ample parking near
to the Mere.
There's lots more to do and see
on a day out in this beautiful Border area, see our
links to other local attractions. |
|
The Shropshire
Steamboat Co. also offers fully insured secure
indoor storage for boats up to 10 metres in length
at our North Shropshire premises. Collection and
delivery can also be arranged if required.
A skilled team of boat builders
and a full and comprehensive workshop are available
for any maintenance requirements. We would also
consider any interesting new design / build projects
and are more than happy to discuss your ideas and
dreams with you, after all, the Lady Katherine
was just a dream not so long ago... |
